17 September 2026 — major expansion #

Added 112 new pages, taking the site from 60 to 172. The expansion filled the largest gaps in the original build and added two new top-level sections.

New sections

  • The Buddha & Buddhist History — the life of the Buddha episode by episode, the councils, Ashoka, the early schools, the decline in India, the spread along the Silk Road and into China, Japan, Tibet, Korea and Vietnam, and the modern period including Buddhist modernism and the Ambedkarite movement. The site previously had no page on the Buddha’s life at all.
  • Buddhist Philosophy — Abhidharma, Madhyamaka and Yogacara, buddha-nature and the bodhisattva path, and Buddhist cosmology.

New clusters in existing sections

  • Core Teachings: Karma & Rebirth, Dependent Origination, Nirvana & Liberation, Buddhist Ethics & the Precepts.
  • Meditation: Setting Up a Practice, Concentration & Advanced Practice; the Buddhism and Psychology cluster filled out.
  • Traditions: East Asian Buddhism; Women in Buddhism and Buddhism in the West filled out.
  • Sacred Texts: Key Suttas & Discourses, Reading Buddhist Texts.
  • Practices & Rituals: Death, Dying & Buddhist Funerals; Shrines, Temples & Pilgrimage; Everyday Lay Practice; the Engaged Buddhism cluster filled out.

Fixes

  • The horizontal navigation overflowed its container between roughly 833px and 950px once the site had seven top-level sections rather than five, producing a horizontal scrollbar. The mobile-nav breakpoint was raised from 52rem to 60rem to close the gap.
